Startup Saturday - under the umbrella of the Headstart Foundation - is a monthly networking hub for entrepreneurs across five cities. Startup Saturday kickstarted in Bangalore in March 2008 and subsequently the concept spread to Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
Each startup Saturday is run by a motivated team of volunteers who are passionate about making a positive difference in the startup ecosystem - thus, lending a helping hand in the country's economic development.
The rationale behind a Startup Saturday is to provide a monthly platform where local entrepreneurs, professionals and students can get together around engaging talks from veterans in the startup industry. Each event has a loose theme and relevant speakers from the chosen theme. The audience plays an active role in shaping the discussions and brain storming is to be found aplenty.
Who should attend?
Whether you are an aspiring, fresh or an experienced entrepreneur, a researcher, from a PR background, a finance person, an investor or anyone alike, we welcome you to our monthly Startup Saturdays and be a part of the growing Kolkata ecosystem.
However hard we may try to tell this, but you will believe it only when you land up at one of the Startup Saturdays. We are not a forum that's focused only on "Technology". We are thriving to have entrepreneurs from all sorts of businesses - both online and offline.
How can I present? Lightning Pitches
Lightning Pitches are 5-minute pitches to quickly present your ideas to the audience, and take back some feedback while you interact with people in the networking session.
Every Startup Saturday Kolkata will have a number of Lightning Pitches, where you can feel free to come up and speak about an idea or pain points of the industry.
Registrations will be taken on the spot on first-come first-serve basis.
